 Directions

Bear Valley Creek comes together with Marsh Creek to form the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. Bear Valley Creek is accessed by Forest Roads 579 and 582. You get there by turning off Highway 21 onto Road 579 just north of Banner Summit or by taking Forest Highway 22 east from Cascade. Forest Road 582 intersects Road 579 west of Bruce Meadows. The Bear Valley Creek trailhead is located near the Fir Creek campground. The trail goes all the way to the Middle Fork, however it fords Bear Valley Creek five times.
