Idaho Falls, Idaho Travel Guide

Complete Vacation, Recreation and Tourism Information

Idaho Falls (pop. 51,000) is a young, clean city at the base of the Blackfoot Mountains. Surrounded by natural beauty, from the lava fields of Craters of the Moon to the jagged peaks of the Grand Tetons, "The Falls" has everything you'd expect from a major city, including baseball, horse racing, a symphony orchestra and live theater. Idaho Falls has gained a national reputation as a beautiful and family-friendly spot to live or visit.

The city of Idaho Falls is well-integrated into its environment, with a pretty downtown area on the shores of the Snake River, which runs through town. Clean streets retain the flavor of the city's founding in the early 1900s. The spires of an LDS temple are reflected attractively in the river, a sign of the city's high Mormon population.

With convenient access to many popular attractions, not the least of which is Yellowstone National Park, Idaho Falls sits in beautiful country. Rafting and fishing on the Snake River are both great pastimes. Several national forests, mountain ranges, and a handful of wildlife refuges and national parks are all within a short drive. An outdoors lover could spend months exploring this pristine countryside.

Idaho Falls is located along I-15 in eastern Idaho. For more information, select a topic of interest from the bar on the left.
