Description
On the right of the trail is Broad Canyon Creek with a variety of scenic beaver dams, willows, aspen and fir trees. The first three miles of the trail are easy meandering through meadows with gorgeous high mountain peaks in the background. Hiker will cross the creek on a picturesque footbridge and enjoy the surrounding. However, once the trail leaves the creek bottom, hiker will enter granite rock and very steep switchbacks all the way to Baptie Lake and on to Goat Lake. Past Goat Lake hiker must negotiate loose slide rock to Betty Lake. There are numerous elk in the area as well as some mountain goats, deer camp robbers (blue jays), eagles and hawks. Fishermen will want to come prepared to try for good supply of cutthroat in Betty Lake.

Trail Begins: Access #1 begins from spur road at the mouth of Broad Canyon Road # 506 and Copper Basin Loop Road #138. Access #2 begins at the Fall Creek Trailhead.
Trail Ends: Betty Lake and intercepts Fall Creek Trail
Conveniences available: There is parking and a stock loading ramp available at Access #1. However, there are no modern conveniences at either access.
