Description

This is a long ridge trail through a roadless area that receives some heavier use during hunting season. Attractions for this trail include dispersed camping sites, panoramic views and a wooden foot bridge crossing Lost Creek near the lower end.

Basic Directions

Access #1: From Coeur d’Alene, Idaho drive east on I-90 taking the Kingston Exit #43. After exiting, travel north on Forest Highway 9 (FH9) 23 miles to Forest Road #208 (FR208). Follow FR208 for 5 miles turning right on Lost Creek FR442. Travel north 15.3 miles to Taylor Saddle, then east .75 mile on FR430 to the Upper Trailhead.

Access #2: From Wallace, Idaho drive north 16.3 miles over Dobson Pass on FR456 to the junction with FH9. Travel east 1.8 miles on FH9 to FR208. Continue for 5 miles to FR442, then north 1.2 miles to the Lower Trailhead.
