Description

Trail follows Squib Creek part of the time through fir trees. At the avalanche chute, the scenery changes to more grass and brush with a more open view. Visitors should note that there are thick areas of scrub where the timber has repeatedly been destroyed over the years by numerous major snow slides. Elk is often spotted on this part of the trail. At the head of the canyon the breathtaking view of the Little and Big Fall Creek is a study of contrasts: A variety of timber, mountain peaks and grasslands. Visitor should also watch for signs of marten, deer, coyotes and beaver.
