Description

The Chutes are a popular downhill area just outside Colorado Springs. The Chutes can be ridden as their own ride but are typically combined with other rides in the area as a popular finishing section.

Cut from the Stratton Open Space lands, the Chutes are a choice location for advancing intermediate level riders to practice their downhill skills and add a thrilling downhill finish to any ride in the Gold Camp Road area.

The Chutes are comprised of several different downhill trails, each rated by difficulty. The Chutes singletrack downhills have built up banks on the corners to allow riders to carry speed down the trail. The Chutes are for downhill riding only.

Riders looking to lap or ride The Chutes as their own ride will access the top of the ride via a spin up Gold Camp Road. The climb on Gold Camp is steep, with a 490-foot elevation gain in just one mile.
