Description

Trail follows switchbacks through sagebrush and Wildcat Canyon and very scattered fir trees. The last 1/4 mile is rough rock. For the curious, Wildcat Canyon was so named many years go because numerous bobcat inhabited the canyon. At the top the old lookout tower was used in the 1930's and 1940's to spot forest fires. It was closed in 1946 but remains a historic site to this day. Visitors will discover that they have a spectacular view for many miles, spotting the Salmon River, Arco Desert and the Pioneer Mountain Range.
