Description
The Payette River is made of two major branches flowing through the western Idaho wilderness, that only meet up about 50 miles from the Payette’s junction with the Snake River. These two branches, along with the main Payette itself, provide a number of interesting and unique stretches of water for rafters and kayakers, in a location easily accessible from the Boise area.Below Smiths Ferry, the end of the Cabarton Run, is a 16 mile stretch of Class IV and V rapids that is considered one of the finest advanced kayak runs in the world. This is thrilling, intense whitewater that should only be attempted by experienced kayakers.
