Basic Directions

Bear River is a tributary of the North Fork Boise River. It is accessible by vehicle and trail. You get to the Bear River trailhead by taking Hwy. 21 east from Idaho City and turning south on the Rabbit Creek Road, 327. Follow the road up the North Fork Boise to Deer Park and then turn on to Forest Road 348. The trailhead is where Road 348 crosses Bear River.
