Description

This is mostly forested hiking/riding on the lower end of the trail. There are some open meadows that are good for camping. Camping is possible all along the trail with good opportunities for solitude. This trail is in the Strawberry Wilderness.

Water is scarce by mid-summer. The lower area of the trail was burned in the 1991 fire.

Basic Directions

From Prairie City, follow County road 62 to Summit Prairie. Go west on Forest Service road 16 to the 924 road. Turn right on Forest Service road 1648. Go to Forest Service road 021. Follow the 021 road approximately 2 1/2 miles to the trailhead.
