Description

The trail is an easy 4-mile hike, mostly through a forested valley to a large mountain lake. See the trail guide for Lake Creek Trail 500 for a description of the longer trail.

This hike is popular with day hikers/riders as well as those looking for a short overnight trip. One should not expect solitude here as the lake has a confined lakeshore with only 3 places to camp. There is a fairly private camp back in the trees at the south end of the lake. The camp at the north end of the lake has a hitch rail and may be used by parties with stock. The lake contains trout and there are miles of lakeshore to fish from.
