Description

Trail #1169

When beginning this ride, please bike a walking speed through the Strawberry Hot Springs. This is a popular tourist area with many people and children around. Basic biking courtesy is appreciated. Be aware that you may encounter permitted cattle grazing on or near the trail. This trail is very popular and extending it to a longer day ride is optional by using connector trails. To access the Red Dirt Trail loop, turn right at the 1169/FDR 128 junction. Please refer to our mountain biking handout for further assistance. This trail is closed between11/15-5/15, falling within an area-closure for wildlife protection.

At the beginning of the single track, watch for a ledge drop off. Be careful! This narrow single-track hugs the north side of the creek often sloping in places towards the creek. After traveling 3 miles, the single-track and trail 1169 ends at the joining with a dirt road, FDR 128. Turn left and continue past the gate to CR 129.
