Basic Directions
Direction to the Property from Airport BGR - From airport ask directions to Route 15 South. It will take about 20 minutes to get to Bucksport on Route 15. Bucksport rigorously enforces its speed regulations. Fines can be steep. A few miles after Bucksport turn right following Route 15 South toward Blue Hill, Deer Isle and Stonington. In another 20 minutes you should be in Blue Hill. Follow Route 15, turning right at the Exxon station at the bottom of the hill. Drive through Blue Hill, up the hill to the flashing light. Go straight, on Route 15 South toward Deer Isle and Stonington. We are about 11 miles from the center of Blue Hill. Drive about four miles and turn left at the Stop sign. This is the intersection of Snows Cove Road and the Mines Road. You will be on Snows Cove Road Route 15. Follow Route 15 South toward Deer Isle and Stonington. Drive about three miles. You will pass Clayforms Potteryon the right, the MDOT facility on the left. Eventually you will drive to the crest of a hill. As you approach you will see the sign for Holbrook Island Sanctuary to the right. There will be a four-way intersection here. Here Route 15 goes straight, but Coastal Road goes right. This is where you leave Route 15. Do not continue straight toward Deer Isle and Stonington. Turn right and go toward Holbrook Island Sanctuary and South Brooksville. Coastal Road goes down the hill. You will pass a huge boulder to the left of the road. You will drive over a little bridge that spans the North end of Walker Pond.After the bridge will be several houses, and the road will split. MAKE SURE YOU STAY TO THE LEFT. There is a large sign that points left to Holbrook Island Sanctuary. Follow it, staying on Coastal Road. Drive approximately 1 mile passing Lakeview Cemeterys arched gate on the left. The small blue sign with white letters saying Oakland House Seaside Resort sign will point you to turn left on Herrick Road. Oakland House Seaside Resort is about 2 miles down Herrick Road on the right. Direction to the Property from EAST - From the East follow Route 1 to Ellsworth. After going through Ellsworth you will cross a bridge and start up a hill. Get in the left lane and turn left on Route 172 part way up the hill. Follow Route 172 to Blue Hill. Drive straight through Blue Hill and up the hill to the flashing light. Go straight, on Route 15 South toward Deer Isle and Stonington. We are about 11 miles from the center of Blue Hill. Drive about four miles and turn left at the Stop sign. This is the intersection of Snows Cove Road and the Mines Road. You will be on Snows Cove
