Basic Directions

The best, most accessible fishing is upstream of the Deadwood River confluence. Take the Banks-Lowman Hwy. east from Banks or take Hwy. 21 past Lowman. Reaches of the river can also be accessed from Forest Road 524, Grand Jean Road.

Camping is available along Hwy. 21 at Mtn View (14 units), Kirkham, and Helende (10 units). You can reserve sites at Mtn. View through National Recreation Reservation Service, 1-877-444-6777. Grand Jean Campground is in Sawtooth National Forest at the end
