Description
A good trail for beginners, this was once an old mining road. Visitor will see fir, spruce, lodge pole pine and scattered aspen. Of interest on the left side of the canyon are the results of numerous avalanches, leaving chutes of very short growth down the slopes. At the end of the trail is an old mining cabin and mine sitting picturesquely on an open grassy hillside, and a meadow surrounded by wildflowers and scattered limber pine. Hikers should watch closely for signs of deer, mountain goats and several varieties of birds.
