Climate
Sun Valley is an arid area, and the climate is dominated by the sparse volcanic highlands to the south. The result is more than 250 days of sunshine a year, and along with the long summer days caused by the northerly latitude the valley’s name is usually quite accurate. The high mountain peaks scrape an average 150 inches of snow from the sky each winter.
