Description
Trail wanders along gentle switchbacks through an old wildfire burn. Visitor will see fir and lodge pole pine among black areas with green patches. Trail then climbs out of the Left Fork of Smithie Fork to a picturesque old log cabin nestled in Smithie meadows. Visitor should look for the old mining road by the cabin. Photographers will want to keep a close eye our for "camp robbers" (blue jays) as well as deer and elk.

Trail Begins: Access #1 begins at Smithie Fork Road #101 at Old Mining Cabin (continues from the main Sawmill Canyon Road) Access #2 begins at Smithie Meadows where old cabin is located. The road forks to the right off from road
